VALD Force-Plate Screening

Baseball Screening

Throw harder. Stay healthy. The legs and hips generate the throw — the arm just finishes it. We screen the whole chain to build velocity and protect the arm.

The Athlete Map

Where each number comes from — and what it means for power and arm health.

The Arm Protect
Shoulder & Elbow
Where baseball injuries appear — but they usually start with a lower half that can't deliver or absorb force.
Landing · Deceleration Watch
7.8× BW
Force absorbed on impact. If the legs can't brake, it travels up to the arm. This is the flag a screen catches early.
Whole-Body Spring Elite
2.0 Hop RSI
How fast the body stores & returns energy — quick first step and explosive stride.
Legs · Velocity Engine Strong
44 W/kg
Peak power driving into the ground — the source of mound velocity and bat speed.
1

Legs — The Velocity Engine

Up to half of throwing velocity comes from the legs pushing into the ground. Stronger legs mean more velocity and less strain on the arm.

2

Spring — Reactive Strength

How quickly the body recycles force. High reactive strength shows elastic, efficient tissue — the base of explosive movement.

3

Landing — The Arm Protector

Every throw ends in a violent deceleration. If the lower half can't brake that force, it loads the elbow and shoulder instead.

4

The Arm — What We Protect

The UCL (elbow) and shoulder are the injury hotspots. We screen the chain beneath them so the arm never has to overwork.

What this is. A VALD dual force-plate screening — the same technology used across MLB, college and Olympic programs — maps the lower-half power that drives velocity and the deceleration control that protects the throwing arm. Youth pitching injuries are at record highs, and most begin below the shoulder. Every player gets this map, a benchmark against their age and position, and a simple plan for what to train next. A quick single-leg test on the next visit adds a left-vs-right symmetry score — the strongest lower-body injury predictor.
